Happy Youth Day everybody!
Today I’m reminded of the fact that my youth is on its way out. I turn 34 years young in October. Yup. I’m closer to 40. But I’m okay with it, most of the time.
I woke up on a public holiday, sober, no hangover (only one glass of wine last night). Up by 730am. Lay in bed with my 2 favourite people, hugging, cuddling and kissing too; albeit the bad breath, I would say it was nothing short of heavenly.
Headed to gym (yes on a holiday) and had a killer 4km run and weight and strength training after. Might I add that this is my first weights session in 2 months as I’ve been on an intense cardio only program. I felt like death but I made it.
And now I’m sitting in a cute lil cafe indulging in food I would never have dreamt of eating (smashed avo and poached eggs- lol- who am I?).
What is even shocking me more is I have my laptop open, and I’m legit working- after I post this of course!
As my youth fades, slowly but surely I’m becoming the person I always craved. Balanced and measured. Well sometimes. I think.
